How a Web Page Works





In 1991, software was developed in Europe that made the internet easier to use. The collection of hyperlinked documents accessible on the Internet has become known as the World Wide Web, WWW, W3, or simply the Web. A Web page is a hypertext or hypermedia document residing on an Internet computer that contains text, graphics, video, or sound.

Web browser software, also called a Web browser or simply a browser,is a program that interprets and displays Web pages and enables you to link to other Web pages.
The first Web browsers used text commands and displayed only text documents. In 1993, however, Marc Andreessen, a student at the University of Illinois, created a graphical Web browser called Mosaic
